Mansfield Heritage Museum

The Mansfield Railway Station, the terminus of the former Tallarook – Yea – Mansfield Line, closed to trains in 1978, with the land on which the station is situated being set aside for community use.  Since that time, the route of the former rail line from Tallarook to Mansfield was converted into the Great Victorian Rail Trail, officially opened in 2012.

The proposed new Mansfield Heritage Museum is a key focus of the Mansfield Station Precinct Masterplan (approved by Council in late 2023) and sits adjacent to the old Mansfield Railway Station, currently home to the Mansfield Historical Society, and in close proximity to the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre.

Ground Control has committed to the Museum Project Control Group to provide landscape design services for the new Museum precinct.

Design works will be ongoing in 2024.
