Laverton Creek (sections 38 & 39)

Ground Control was engaged in 2011 by project managers Devcon Pty Ltd on behalf of Pelmin Properties Pty Ltd (Pellicano Group) to design and document the landscape works for Laverton Creek Section 38 and Section 39.  These two stages make up just under one kilometre length section of remodelled, re-profiled waterway immediately east of the Deer Park Bypass, neatly bisected by Riding Boundary Road.

Landscape works included replanting 3.73 hectares with over 100,000 indigenous plants selected from local EVCs and other selected proven native plant species to Melbourne Water’s approval, extensive jute matting, grassing to the balance of each waterway area and establishment maintenance. Landscape works were completed in 2013 and are under an extended maintenance period.

Both waterway sections form part of the Laverton Creek Drainage Scheme and are fully reimbursable by Melbourne Water Corporation.
